Optibike Sweeps at Pikes Peak Hill Climb Event

In August, 2011, a group of 7 Optibikes took 1-7th places in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Event. The first place bike was a beautiful custom painted Pearl White Optibike 1100R ridden by longtime Optibike Owner and Ambassador John Sagebiel, who beat the 2010 Pikes Peak record (set by Optibike) by 40 minutes with a time of 01:06:45.
After Optibike, the 8th place electric bike took nearly 3x as long to summit the complete the 26 mile, 8000+ vertical ft. ascent.
“The 1100 is a different animal–it has enough power to be tricky. I’ve had a motorcycle since I was 13 and have had a hopped Ducati for the past 10 yrs–so I’m used to the twist throttle and the roads. One must be careful as the 1100 can Zoom!”
-Al M. aka “Nimbuzz”, Stinson Beach, California, Longtime Optibike Owner, new 1100R owner.
The Pikes Peak Edition of the Optibike 1100R is available in Limited Edition Pearl White, and is complete with Heavy Duty suspension and brakes for the ultimate in off-road fun*.
*Note: The Optibike 1100R is designed to be ridden off road only, as it exceeds the speed and power limitations of the US Electric Bike Laws, and the laws in most, if not all US States.
