Optibike G Series: The Next Evolution of Electric Bikes
Introducing the New 2026 Optibike G Series
We’re proud to introduce the new Optibike G Series, a new generation of high-performance electric bikes engineered to deliver unmatched capability, confidence, and durability—across three distinct models built for very different riders and terrain.
The G Series Lineup
- G Series Metro — Everyday performance and urban riding
- G Series Altus — E-Venture capability without limits
- G Series Loki — The highest-performance E-MTB in America
Each model shares the same core engineering DNA while being optimized for a specific mission.
Designed in America for Real Power (Not European Limits)
Most electric bikes are engineered around European regulations, where motors are designed for 250 watts nominal output. Those limits shape everything—from motor architecture to thermal capacity—and the result is performance that fades when riding gets steep, fast, or demanding.
The Optibike PowerStorm™ motor was designed in America, for American riding conditions and American power limits.
Built specifically around the U.S. 750-watt standard, the Optibike PowerStorm™ motor delivers TRUE POWER™—real, sustained output without overheating or fade. This American-first design allows riders to climb longer, push harder, and ride at the front of the pack, not just keep up.
This philosophy is the foundation of the new 2026 Optibike G Series.
20 Years of Optibike Evolution
The G Series represents the next evolution in electric bikes—built on more than 20 years of continuous Optibike development, engineering, and real-world riding.
Since the earliest days of high-performance electric bikes, Optibike has focused on what actually matters: sustained power, durability under load, rider confidence, and long-term reliability. Two decades of building and riding Optibikes on steep terrain, long climbs, and demanding real-world conditions have shaped every decision behind the G Series.
It is a natural evolution of our previous models, and builds on all of our previous experience on designing ebikes.
One Platform. Three Purpose-Built Electric Bikes.
Every G Series Optibike is built on a shared foundation:
- New Gen 2 Carbon Fiber Frame and Carbon Fiber Swingarm
- Optibike PowerStorm™ motor with Whisper Ride Technology
- 170mm front / 170mm rear suspension
- Ultra-low 26-inch standover height
- 1440Wh, 48V quick-change battery
- TRUE POWER™ sustained output
- Mass-centralized design
- German-engineered Rohloff 14-speed hub
- Custom built-to-order in Colorado
From this foundation, each model is tuned for a different type of rider and terrain.
A New Standard in Frame Design: Ultra-Low Standover
A defining feature of the G Series is its new carbon fiber frame with the lowest standover height ever achieved in a 170mm-travel electric bike.
At just 26 inches of standover, the G Series makes getting on and off the bike dramatically easier—especially compared to other long-travel E-MTBs that are tall and intimidating at stops or on uneven terrain.
This design:
- Improves confidence on steep and technical terrain
- Makes mounting and dismounting easier and safer
- Expands accessibility to a wider range of riders
- Achieves this without sacrificing strength or suspension performance
Key Features of the Optibike G Series
New Carbon Fiber Frame & Swingarm
A full carbon fiber frame and swingarm provide superior rigidity, precise ride handling, and a refined premium ride feel—especially under high power and load.
Large-Capacity 1440Wh Battery — 2-3x the Range
The 1440Wh, 48V battery delivers approximately two to three times the real-world range of most E-bikes. The battery is quick-change and lockable, allowing fast swaps for extended rides.
TRUE POWER™ — Sustained Output Without Fade
TRUE POWER™ means the motor delivers its rated output continuously, without overheating or reducing power. Performance stays consistent from full charge to empty—even on long, demanding climbs.
Optibike PowerStorm™ with Whisper Ride Technology — 190 Nm Torque
The PowerStorm™ motor delivers 190 Nm of class-leading torque with smooth, quiet operation. Whisper Ride Technology reduces vibration and noise for refined, confidence-inspiring power delivery.
Mass-Centralized Design
Motor and battery mass are positioned low and centered, improving balance, stability, and control on climbs, descents, and technical terrain.
German-Engineered Rohloff 14-Speed Hub
The Rohloff 14-speed internal gear hub provides exceptional reliability and a straight chainline, dramatically extending chain life—even under extreme torque.
G Series Metro — Performance for the Real World
The G Series Metro is designed for riders who want everyday usability without sacrificing performance or durability.
With 190 Nm of torque and TRUE POWER™ 750 watts of continuous output, Metro will climb hills and accelerate quickly to get you around town, on a road trip, or on your commute to work. With a 1440Wh battery it has plenty of range, with up to 130 miles of range, or almost 7 hours of riding time.
Ideal for:
- City riding and commuting
- Bike paths and mixed terrain
- Riders who value comfort, reliability, and long range
Metro is a Class 3 E-Bike, using a torque sensor pedelec + throttle system with an LCD display featuring 5 assist levels. Or with the optional MMI display it can be swapped between Class 1, 2, or 3 with 12 total assist levels and advanced customization.
G Series Loki — The Highest-Performance E-MTB in America
The G Series Loki is the highest-performance electric mountain bike in America.
With 190 Nm of torque and TRUE POWER™ 750 watts of continuous output, Loki operates in a completely different class than conventional E-MTBs. Combined with the 1440Wh battery, Loki delivers extreme climbing capability and long, sustained performance without fade.
Built for:
- Steep, technical terrain
- Long climbs and heavy loads
- Riders who demand maximum, sustained performance
Loki is a Class 1 E-Bike, using a torque sensor pedelec system with an LCD display featuring 5 assist levels.
G Series Altus — E-Venture Capability Without Limits
The G Series Altus is part of Optibike’s E-Venture Series along with the R22 Everest, built for riders who want to ride without compromise—on all trails, in all conditions.
At the heart of Altus is Optibike’s MMI (Multi-Mode Interface), allowing riders to choose how the bike performs based on terrain and conditions.
Using the MMI, Altus can be set to:
- Class 1
- Class 2
- Class 3
- Moto Mode (off-road / forest road use)
In Moto Mode, Altus delivers up to 1600 watts of power with a top speed of up to 36 mph for appropriate off-road environments.
Altus uses a torque sensor pedelec + throttle system.
Built to Order in Colorado
Every G Series Optibike is custom built to order in Colorado.
Each bike is assembled specifically for its rider, with final inspection and testing performed in the United States. Optibike bikes are built in America using a combination of American-made and globally sourced components, in accordance with FTC guidelines.
The G Series Philosophy
The G Series reflects more than two decades of Optibike experience building high-performance electric bikes.
Three bikes. Three purposes.
One uncompromising standard.
