Patented Motorized Bottom Bracket
The Motorized Bottom Bracket (MBB) drive system is the most efficient drive system for an electric bicycle, allowing the rider to pedal in tandem with the motor, giving both the rider and the motor take advantage of the Optibikes gearing.You are in control over how much assist you get from the MBB via an electronic throttle operated by your right hand.

Exclusive MBB Speedrive
Since 2010, Optibike has offered the ultra high torque, low maintenance MBB Speedrive system, which couples the Optibike Motorized Bottom Bracket with the German made 14 speed Rohloff Speedhub, an internally geared rear hub that eliminates the need for a derailleur. This system is available on the R-series bikes, and with the added torque, low maintenance, and reduced noise- is our most popular option.
The Worlds Most Advanced Lithium Ion Battery Technology
The 3rd generation Optibike Lithium Ion battery system was designed by Optibike to work with the specific power needs of the Optibike Motorized Bottom Bracket.
The proprietary lithium-ion battery is manufactured in the USA, and is warranted for an industry leading 3 years/30,000 miles. The useful life of this battery is 4-5 years, after which the battery can easily be replaced and recycled, where facilities exist.
The 26ah 36v battery used in the Optibike is the highest capacity battery offered in an electric bicycle today. The Lithium Cobalt chemistry offers much higher energy density than other lithium batteries, giving the Optibike the most range, in the lightest, most compact pacakge. A large battery means you can ride further. No other electric bike can go as far as an Optibike, guaranteed.
Balance and Performance based design
Award winning electric bike designer and former National Motocross champion Jim Turner designed the patented Optibike monocoque frame from scratch to include 4 key elements: balance, style, performance, and safety.
Balance
The Optibike frame houses the battery inside and keeps the weight of the battery low and centered on the bike. A low center of gravity makes the Optibike the best handling electric bike in the world.
Style
The aluminum monocoque frame houses all of the electronics inside to protect them from the elements, impact, and your eyes. The Optibike is waterproof. WARNING: The clean lines on the Optibike will have people stopping you on the street to ask about it.
Performance
The Optibike frame is made entirely in the USA from aircraft grade 60/61 aluminum. Each frame is welded by hand by the most accurate welders in the country and heat treated to ensure maximum strength. Just before the frames are shipped to Optibike, critical points such as the swingarm pivot, head tube cups, and shock mounts are re-machined to ensure absolute accuracy.
Safety
Each frame is inspected for defects at the time of manufacture, once again just before shipment to Optibike and then 2 more times after they arrive in Colorado. We warranty the Optibike frame for life from manufacturing defects.
