Optibike R8HD
The Optibike R8HD is an R8 that has been upgraded with a heavy duty package for people weighing over 220 pounds or who ride at more extreme levels. It features a larger 36 mm Fox Fork, larger rims and tires and other components designed for heavier riders.
The Optibike R8HD is the standard by which all other electric bikes are measured. The R8HD has superior handling, hill climbing ability and stopping power than any other bike. The new larger 29Ah Lithium battery gives you the longest range of any electric bicycle, up to 100 miles with optional Touring Battery.
Racing class Fox Suspension and Avid hydraulic brakes make this bike extremely safe and comfortable to ride. The patented Motorized Bottom Bracket (MBB) lets this bike climb any hill and the low center of gravity of the exclusive patented monocoque frame make this bike ultra-stable.
You will find the R8HD extremely comfortable to ride. The front and rear suspension give a plush and secure ride, unmatched by any other electric bike. The R8HD is great on road or off road. At the 2006 Tour De Sol Electric Vehicle race held in upstate New York, Craig Weakley rode an Optibike 104 miles in less than 4 hours over a course of rolling hills with minimal pedaling. (100 mile range requires optional Touring battery)
