Optibike Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary as the Oldest Maker of
Electric Bicycles in America
Inventor, President and Founder Jim Turner graduated with an advanced degree from Stanford and initially began working as a Design Engineer for Ford Motor Company. But he needed more of a challenge, and when he learned about the concept of electric bikes he realized that this was an industry that could help change people’s lives for the better.
“The Optibike…helps me stay strong on my bike at 61 feeling like I am 20 again. What an awesome time I have on the R11.”
“I love my Optibike R8 All Around electric bike…I am able to commute from Sioux Falls South, Dakota to Cameron, South Dakota which is over 31 miles one way with lots of rolling hills.”
“Riding the Optibike makes me feel free! It actually makes me forget I am sick. I’m not able to ride a ‘normal’ bike…my legs get too fatigued and eventually go numb. With the power of the Optibike, I was able to pedal without the pins and needles…”
“We don’t want to be the biggest; we just want to build the best,” explains Turner. “I feel so proud of our success. And many of our customers are now ordering their 4th or 5th Optibike, which tells you a lot about how much people love them!”
Optibike’s product line has expanded a great deal over the last few years. Customers can now choose from a diverse range of bikes depending on the level of power and performance they require.
