The Red Bull High Performance Lab has requested the use of the custom Optibike R11 Velodrome electric bike for use in its Project Endurance test in California during the week of May 16th.
Optibike Velodrome rider, Tim Kyer, will travel to California to pilot the Optibike during the tests. Tim has been using the Optibike to train riders in Boulder since 2011. Training with the Optibike allows athletes to increase their speed and stamina. The electric bike by Optibike has been used in the Velodrome and for motor pacing on streets with major cycling teams.
The Red Bull High Performance Lab is continually seeking ways to improve the performance of athletes. The Optibike will be used to pace riders, to insure they ride at maximum effort during the test. The electric bike, Optibike R11, was chosen as it is emission free and provides a better environment that a gas scooter can. With the Optibike, it is easy for Tim to set a smooth and consistent pace for the riders.
